As Chairman of the Board, it is a privilege to lead Grupo Gigante, one of the most significant companies in our country, which throughout its history has maintained a constant and noteworthy presence on the Mexican economy, and continues being a reference as a socially responsible organization for the communities we serve.
We have always been a trustworthy company, a new job generator and aware of our role in the market, ensuring fair competition in Mexico, a country that fully participates in the global economic environment.
Since our foundation, we have always played together with Mexico, adapting ourselves to the changes and to the circumstances we have lived with it. Always looking for continuous improvement and reinventing ourselves every day.
It is hard to know how far we will get, what challenges we will face and new achievements will be reached. What we do know is that today we´ve already made history together.

Since the beginning, social responsibility and the need to help others have been fundamental issues for Grupo Gigante. These are part of the management, the way in which our company does business and how we operate sustainably in the economic, social and environmental spheres.

For the ninth consecutive year, Grupo Gigante was been awarded by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) as a "Socially Responsible Company", which represents an example of human sense and spirit of solidarity of its shareholders and employees, who have assumed the challenge of improving the living condition of disadvantaged people, reinforcing the meaning of serving to the ones who need it more.
In order to maintain a culture of legality and honesty, Grupo Gigante is governed by a series of values and ethical principles that establish the guidelines for our behavior.
The Code of Ethics establishes a frame of reference based in our Mission, Vision and Values, which represent our reason to exist, the perspective that Grupo Gigante has for the future and the rules of conduct and behavior that inspire us. Also describes our commitment with a culture of ethical business, social responsibility and the principles of action that all our employees must comply with.
Grupo Gigante has created guidelines for integrity and corporate ethics pronouncing against any form or act of corruption, with the purpose of promoting actions to guarantee adherence to national and international regulations and initiatives that establish practices against bribery and corruption.
Through our Anti- corruption policy, we strengthen transparency, accountability and we fight against corruption, which are fundamental aspects for us to make institutional decisions in our company to encourage us to renew and permanently implement mechanisms in the entire to prevent any practice against our values and ethical principles.
GG's Integrated Complaint System is a mechanism to report inappropriate situations and behaviors that violate the Code of Ethics and our policies and procedures that may affect the work environment or put on a risk the employees, the heritage or the prestige of the company. To enhance the transparency, reliability and anonymity of the users, this mechanism is managed by an independent third party (PWC).

Finally, as an integrated part of the internal controls and practices that allow employees to fulfill the performance of their duties, we have the Hospitality and Travel Expenses policy which regulate the allocataion, use and verification of resources, providing the necessary instructions to guarantee its rational and efficient use, facilitating budgetary and accounting records.
